Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be writing this so soon.. but here I am. My entire world has literally crumbled into a million little pieces, and to say I’m heart broken is a complete understatement. 9/24/24 will forever be a date etched into my memory, and a date I won’t forget until my very last breath. My Granny, my precious precious Granny, the biggest chunk of my heart, my best friend.. decided her time on earth was done and she went peacefully (and unexpectedly) into the arms of Jesus. I cannot even begin to wrap my head around her being gone. From my birth until now, you have been my fierce protector. (Other than My Momma). I could do no wrong in your eyes. You loved me when I wasn’t lovable. You loved me when the world turned its back on me. And you loved me through all of my good days and bad. You loved my babies. You just loved. You truly embodied what it meant to love just like Jesus did. Family was so important to you, and there’s nothing that you wouldn’t do for anyone who showed up on your door step. From birthdays to holidays, to school events.. you never missed a single one. Please give Leroy the biggest hug imaginable from me. Please tell Everyone I love them so very much. But most importantly Granny.. please don’t stop watching over me, and especially don’t stop watching over my babies & our family. They loved you more than I could ever begin to explain. I don’t know how I’m going to get through this.. because I’m not ready, and truthfully I’m not okay. But I know you wouldn’t want me sad. I just know that when you finally got to see the face of Jesus, I know He greeted you with, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” It truly has been an absolute honor to be your granddaughter. I love you, Granny Rosie Lee. RIP to the world’s greatest and most beautiful grandma a granddaughter could ever have. 💔💔💔

To the family of Rosie Lee. My name is Hattie Marie Byrd(Derden) she called me Ree as many of my family (Montgomery) Rosie Lee called each other cousins in a round about way, most older ones there knows why we did. Rosie Lee and I played together as youngsters when she would come up for the summers from Durant. She and I both lived with our grandmothers there on Manson next door where Daphne lives now. We had much fun together it saddens me to hear of her passing and her daughter yesterday.May you endure in the days to follow which I know will be hard. I send my deepest love and prayers to you all. Ree
